Encryption support

Encrypted packages use AES-GCM with a PBKDF2-derived key. A .ptenc file is a PrivaTools Encrypted package. The encrypted payload includes the original filename and type so they can be restored after decrypting.

How it works

  1. Choose a file and select Encrypt or Decrypt.
  2. Enter the password. Encryption also asks you to confirm it.
  3. Download the local result without uploading anything.

Private by design.

File bytes and passwords stay in your browser. PrivaTools does not upload, store, or log them.
