Privacy Policy
PrivaTools is built around a simple rule: file work should happen in your browser whenever technically possible, without sending your files to a PrivaTools server.
Last updated: May 16, 2026
The short version
We design PrivaTools so selected files stay on your device. Most tools run entirely with browser APIs and locally bundled libraries. We do not require accounts, and we do not want your documents, images, archives, or metadata.
Our privacy-first promise
PrivaTools prioritizes in-browser processing, local downloads, and plain explanations of tool limits. If a tool cannot respect that approach, it should be clearly marked, changed, or skipped.
What the tools process
Each tool only processes the files, text, or settings you choose for that workflow. Output files are created locally and downloaded by your browser. Your original files remain on your device unless you choose to move or delete them.
No PrivaTools accounts
PrivaTools does not currently provide user accounts, hosted file storage, or cloud workspaces. We do not collect login profiles because the service is meant to work without them.
Browser storage
PrivaTools may save small browser-local preferences such as dismissed popup state or tool settings. This data stays in your browser storage and can be removed by clearing site data.
Network requests and third parties
The site may load shared styling, icon assets, fonts, or donation features from third-party providers such as Bootstrap/CDN providers or PayPal. Tool logic and file processing should not depend on sending your files to those services.
Donations
If you use a PayPal donation button, the donation is handled by PayPal and subject to PayPal terms and privacy practices. PrivaTools does not receive your file contents through donations.
Security practices
We try to reduce privacy risk by avoiding server-side file handling, bundling tool logic locally where practical, and keeping outputs under your control. No website can guarantee perfect security, so review sensitive results before sharing them.
Important limitations
Browser-only processing can fail on very large files, unsupported formats, damaged files, or older browsers. Some browser or operating-system features may keep their own history, cache, or download records outside PrivaTools control.
Policy changes
We may update this policy as PrivaTools changes. The updated date shows when this page was last revised.
Contact
If you notice a tool sending file data away from the browser, treat it as a bug and report it so it can be investigated and fixed.
